We got our trailer today from ABF — the people have been nothing but nice, and it looks like it will go pretty well. We may be paying marginally more than a U-Haul truck, but we won’t have to drive it, and it’s a 28′ semi trailer. They’ll haul this down to Georgia next week, and we’ll have about 4 days to remove our stuff from it.

Rebecca and I figured we would start with the easy boxes, so here we have about 80 of them on the truck. Lucy’s striking a pose. I think we’ll have enough room.

Well, another weekend, another place to go eat. There’s a burger chain that started out in Washington D.C. called 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. It’s burgers and fries, so how could I go wrong?

The way it works is this: a regular burger has two hand-formed, freshly ground patties. They have a small size with a single patty. You pay the price on the marquee, but you can add as many or as few toppings as you like. Fries come in regular (huge) and large (I can only guess). They have hot dogs as well, but I didn’t try those… maybe some other time.

I traveled a few blocks away from Mercer to visit the Bear’s Den. The first thing that struck me about the place was the well-weathered Pepsi sign above the entrance. I have not seen Pepsi at a restaurant since I have been in Georgia. Fear not: they only had Coke products at the fountain. One other thing that I noticed is that you have two varieties of tea: Tea and Unsweet Tea. (I tragically failed to get a picture of the signage… next time…)

Anyhow: I had fried catfish, squash casserole, greens, and cornbread. This was all followed by a serving of banana pudding. I felt tolerably good at the conclusion of the meal, but it became heavier as I walked back. The walk was a good idea
