Hawkinsville Harness Race

Hawkinsville’s annual Harness Races were going down, so we decided to see what it was all about. So far we’ve seen much more track prep than track useage, but it’s pretty neat once they get going.

Coleman Hill Jazz Concert

We made it to Coleman Hill – the jazz concert that is part of the Macon Cherry Blossom Festival wasn’t there… Instead it was inside and downtown, due to rain. The rain is going to miss us, but we’ve got a climate-controlled picnic dinner, wine, and jazz.

Spring has sprung!

We’ve got all kinds of trees in bloom! The pollen on everything isn’t great, but it should only last a couple of weeks. During that time, we’ll have a great show of blooms on all the trees. Our Japanese tulip trees are in decline now, but the cherry trees are in full bloom!

New Fence

The fence was a shovel-ready project. With a day and a half solid days of work, I’m sore, but we have 19 out of about 40 posts in the ground. 8 are set in concrete.

Next project: fence!

The next project on the list is a 6′ privacy fence to keep our dog and kidlets in, and the neighborhood dogs out. All we need is the utility guys to do their markings, then it’s ein Wand frei!

Green Lizard!

Another week, another animal. This time, we got a nice looking lizard. I don’t remember seeing such things in Fargo. This little guy changed from green to brown before our very eyes!

Heap big stickum bug!

Grasshoppers

Georgia has some huge grasshoppers! These are 2″-3″ long, and social. You can tell because they like to give each other piggy back rides!
